Revolutionizing All-Wheel Drive: Mazda's i-Activ AWD System Combines Predictive Technology with Fuel Efficiency

Mazda has brought a significant enhancement to its all-wheel-drive technology with the i-Activ AWD system, which showcases predictive technology that senses and responds in real time. This innovative feature has been engineered to monitor road conditions at an impressive rate of 200 times per second, automatically adapting to provide drivers with maximum control.

A unique aspect of the i-Activ AWD system is its ability to anticipate the driver's intentions. It relies on multiple sensors to forecast actions such as acceleration, steering sharpness, and brake application. This information is then processed systematically to deliver the best possible vehicle control.

Additionally, this system boasts an advanced road assessment feature. It consistently observes exterior temperature, wiper operation, torque required to turn the front wheels, and engine load to assess conditions such as rain, snow, slippery roads, and steep inclines. This intelligent evaluation allows the system to optimize its response based on the external environment.

To counteract potential slips in adverse conditions, the i-Activ AWD system judiciously sends the correct amount of torque to the rear wheels. This maneuver not only provides optimal traction but also boosts fuel efficiency, even in wet conditions.

Rapid responsiveness is another key advantage of the i-Activ AWD system. Its superior computing power enables the system to calculate the ideal torque distribution between the front and rear wheels 200 times per second. This allows for quick adjustments that promise a more stable and secure drive.

However, Mazda's innovation doesn't stop at performance. The i-Activ AWD system also delivers uncompromised fuel efficiency and reduced carbon emissions. This has been achieved through meticulous study and redesigning of the way oil moves through gears to minimize mechanical friction.

Further, Mazda engineers have thoroughly analyzed and refined the design and materials of each component in the i-Activ AWD system, resulting in a substantial 43% reduction in weight. This lightweight design combined with the improved fuel efficiency only adds to the reasons why drivers will enjoy their ride more with Mazda's i-Activ AWD.
