The Best Vehicle in its Segment Just Got Better
There’s a good reason you already see so many Mazda CX-5s on the road today. With three models and two distinct engine choices, there’s a CX-5 to suit every need and budget, and definitely one that’ll look just right parked in your driveway. You’ll find the original SKYACTIV-G 2.0L 4-cylinder engine in the 2016 CX-5 GX model. Said engine produces 155 horsepower and 150 lb-ft of torque. Bonus: there’s a 6-speed manual transmission available in the GX model, but only for the front-wheel drive version. Opt for the AWD version and it comes equipped with a 6-speed automatic.
Moving up in the lineup, you’ll find the GS and GT models, which are equipped with a SKYACTIV-G 2.5L 4-cylinder pushes out a more than agreeable 184 horsepower and 185 lb-ft of torque. This efficient engine is enough to give the 2016 Mazda CX-5 some serious muscle on the road. The GS and GT can be had in either FWD or AWD, and only come with the 6-speed automatic transmission.
